Kaden Sebastian is a Queer Painter and Animator born on the East Coast of Connecticut and now resides in the Midwest.  He will receive his Bachelor of Visual Arts in Animation and Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting at Ball State University with a Minor in Theatre.

His works have been shown in Ball State’s Foundation Show and Annual Juried Student Art Show at the Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery and at the Richmond Art Museum’s 124th Juried Annual Exhibition and is the recipient of the College of Fine Arts INNOVATE Grant.

Kaden typically works with monochromatic colors in acrylic on custom-built, non-traditional shaped canvas in order to emphasize its impact and/or concept.

Kaden found his voice as an artist in the work he’s created, and continues to create, about reclamation and representation.  His paintings explore the history of queer identities and people and its relationship to today’s modern world.  He continues to be influenced by the point in which queer theory and history intersects with pop culture and media.
